About Me
ABOUT THIS SITE
This site is a media journal that seeks to present in a multifaceted narrative the sounds and sights I recorded on a college program trip to Cuba in January 2016. (View the program website here.) This site is both an archive and a blog: the galleries of photos, videos, and audio recordings I gathered are grouped under the loose themes of "People," "Places," and "Encounters," but some of these media are also further developed in the blog.
As part of a research project that builds upon the coursework and experiences of this program, I am writing a photo essay about the trip. This will be posted in its entirety on a new page of the website when completed.
ABOUT ME
My name is Rachel Brown, and I'm a senior at Washington College, majoring in Hispanic Studies and Anthropology with a minor in Creative Writing. Photography is a recent passion, and I hope to combine it with my love of writing and travel in a possible career as a photojournalist.
